Spotless hotel in a beautiful building really close to Siena. Overall a wonderful stay on vacation. Good sized and airy rooms with view. Comfy location to the winery with views of the hills...

The hotel is family run and the owners, Elio and Stefania, were both delightfully friendly and went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable.
I would have liked to have the use of a lounge. There is a lovely outside area with the most beautiful views which would be fantastic in the warm weather but in November it would have been nice to have the use of a sitting room to maybe go and read or have a drink on our return from a day out rather than having to sit in your bedroom or the breakfast room.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the picturesque towns of San Gimignano and Florence. It is easy to access by train from Certaldo, with convenient parking available near the station. It's great that there's a nearby option like Culver's for grab-and-go food.

Elio and Stefania were the perfect hosts, the location was stunning and the our whole trip was one of the best we have experienced. It is a quaint off the beaten path B & B surrounded by vineyards and a lush landscape. A local restaurant served the best Italian food-lazagna- delish but their homemade olive oit out of this world. Elio and Stephia went well beyond their duties and treated us as family. I am truly thankful for their hospitality. My daughter and I can honestly say our time at Hotel Vecchio Asilo contributed to us having a trip of a lifetime. Ciao!!!!
Had difficulty getting online at times. But you shouldn't be on the computer anyway when you are on vacation :).

Everything that has been written about this hotel is true. It is fantastic. Just be aware that you will need to take time to eat the five courses Elio serves you for breakfast. Lovely local produce and Stefania's home baking. You do need a car to stay here.
